Styling and care
Removing product buildup: notice when your hair needs a reset
When product builds up layer by layer, hair can react differently from just after a haircut. It can feel heavy, sticky or less movable. That does not automatically mean a product is bad; often the amount, order or cleansing no longer fits your routine.
Recognise a change, not one bad hair day
Look for a pattern: does the same amount suddenly stop working, does hair stay dull after washing or can you barely move the roots? Also note which products you combine, because buildup often comes from layers rather than one item.
Simplify before replacing
Wash your hair according to the instructions for the products you normally use and use less at the next styling session. Do not immediately add a new product to disguise the existing layer. A calm base makes it clearer what your hair actually needs.
Make your routine discussable
If you are unsure, bring up which styling and washing products you use and how often. Your barber can assess the haircut shape, while suitable care also depends on scalp comfort and your own experience with products.
