Bro flow: medium-length hair that moves away from the face

A bro flow is a loose medium-length shape in which the hair moves away from the face, backwards or to the side. It is not a haircut created simply by avoiding cuts: the perimeter, weight and area around the ears determine whether it looks intentional or uneven.

Agree on the desired length in stages

If you are growing from a short haircut, explain both the end goal and what you want to wear comfortably in the meantime. An intermediate shape can tidy the edges while leaving the areas that need length alone.

Show where the hair may reach around your ears and neck. “Long enough to move away” is useful direction, but becomes clearer with a side and back reference.

Remove weight without removing all the length

Medium hair can sit wide or heavy at the sides. Discuss whether you want less bulk without raising or shortening the perimeter. That is a different change from cutting everything shorter.

With waves and curls, the shape changes as it dries. Show the normal dry fall before deciding how light the ends should be.

Consider your daily styling route

Explain whether you tuck hair behind your ears, blow-dry it away from the face or mostly let it dry. The direction you handle it each day determines how the layers need to work together.

Afterwards, check whether both sides move away from your face when you run your own hands through them. A perfectly combed salon shape says less than that personal test.
